Description : TEMEPHOS is a larvacide which effectively controls the vectors of human diseases such as Malaria, Onchocerciasis, Epidemic Typhus Fever, Filariasis, Dracunculiasis, Yellow Fever, Dengue and various other arbovirus diseases.

The product conforms to IS : 8701 (1978) and WHO specifications WHO/SIT/19.R1
a) Appearance : Pale yellow to brown coloured viscous liquid that may contain crystals below 30OC
b) Temephos content by HPLC : 90% (w/w) minimum
c) Moisture content by Karl Fischer method : 0.2% (w/w) maximum
d) Material insoluble in acetone : 0.5% (w/w) maximum
e) Acidity (as H2SO4) : 0.3% (w/w) maximum
Formulations : Emulsifiable concentrate 50% (w/w) & (w/v), 44% (w/w)
Toxicity :
a) Mammalian toxicity : WHO classification :
“Product unlikely to present acute
hazard in normal use.”
b) Environmental toxicity : It has low toxicity to fish. It has moderate to low toxicity to birds. It has negligible toxicity to bees in aerial application. No noticeable effects on non-target organisms.
Shelf-life :
One year under normal storage conditions for TG.
Two years for 50% EC.
One and half years for 1% granules.
