The wire and cable coating industry is dependent on the processability of polymeric materials and does not generally use high-performance thermoplastics. However, due to the ease of processing and the high quality of the product, PEKTM polymer is increasingly used in demanding wire and cable applications.
Consisting of medium-viscosity resin, G-PAEKTM 1200G is for use in melt extrusion-based wire and cable insulation layers, as well as PEK Monofilaments, multi-filament fibres, ultra-thin tubing, and films. Semi-crystalline material allows for the production of articles that are low in gel content and other particulate contamination.

Our recently innovated PBI material helps make the protective Fire fighting clothes, gloves, vests, helmets and vehicles that protect the world’s armed forces, law enforcement professionals – and citizens.
This is why our customers are increasingly turning to PBI fibres; it’s the world’s only high LOI fibre available. This remarkable material from Gharda is having 2 times higher limiting oxygen index (LOI) in comparison to meta-aramid fibre. It has a high tenacity. All of which makes it perfect for use in equipment for anyone on the frontline and in harm’s way. PBI can be easily blended with other fibre such as Meta-aramid, Para-aramid, cotton and viscose.

A high-performance thermoplastic with the characteristics common to this group – strong, stiff, hard, high-temperature resistance, good chemical resistance and inherently low flammability and smoke emission. PEK is beige in colour and usually semi-crystalline and opaque, except thin films are usually amorphous and transparent. It also has very good resistance to wear, dynamic fatigue and radiation, but it is difficult to process and very expensive. Filled grades, including ones designed for bearing-type applications, are also available as special order items.
Applications include Conveyer Belting, Filtration media, Printing Meshes, Aerospace straps, Tennis racquets strings, Musical instruments strings etc.
